Each house stresses the importance of community orientation and integration in their program. The children go bowling, swimming and attend a community based recreational program on a weekly basis. This encourages locomotor and gross motor skills, and as well, sharpens their safety awareness while enroute to the various activities. The children also go on field trips to Ontario Place, The Metro Zoo, The Science Centre, public libraries and community parks. The children and adults in the community provide the appropriate model behaviour for our children to imitate. For this reason, we feel that community integration is extremely important. |
